Imperial and Royal Loach outside?

I kept 15 outside all winter in San Diego. The tank was ~60 degrees F. They did fine and got fat, but they may not have been digesting. I brought them inside after about 9 months outside because the tank could get > 90 degrees F in the summer in our infrequent heat waves.
