i was in one of my lfs and seen three lil gars LOL the guy at the store was a chump he told me the fish was full grown at 4" omg:banhim: but he just wanted to sell it:irked: its a short nosed gar. i beleave i bot one cause it was cool but it says on the internet they do better in schools should i get a other.? and how fast will it grow?? it also says they get to 28" LOL but in tanks they get too 10-12" so wut should i do i think its the coolest lil fish!!!!!! thx i'll be waitin here's some pics:popcorn:

don't get nervous.. that is a fish that grows to about 20 cm's. can be mean. not a picky eater.

Related more to pikes I would say, then to gars..

THANKYOU your more then hlpful thats the stuff!!!!!what about tankmates? or should i school them i could go get the other 2?!?
 
I never had them but alone..you can have it with bigger fish ( but not so big that they might kill her . a big tank is best suited for that purpose..
 
nice way to welcome a newb--delgado. get a few of them, they're cool with a few. won't get nearly as big as a true gar though.
 
mine was even attacking my 3times bigger arowana, had to put it with the wolf, a cihla a crenicihla and a flowerhorn , but here goes some help with this small terror:
