Important Driftwood Question!

My solution to floating wood was using the rim of the tank to hold one end and rocks to hold the other end under water. So they are kinda wedge in for now.
I'll want to change up the look once the wood is waterlog, but this works for now.

That stump is really cool looking. But I can see how weighing it down would be hard.

Random thought... What about using fishing line to attach rocks? It might not be the most attractive look, but could be hidden with plants if it worked to hold the wood down.
 
I had a 4' piece that I tied a few bricks to and tossed it in my parents koi pond to soak and it took all summer to get waterlogged enough to stay down.

You may want to get a long drill bit and blast a few holes deep into the center
