I'm wanting to move to aus at the end of next year and would dig to take my fish with me but i have no idea how to get them there.

I have 2 oscars, 2 Jags, 2 Clown Knives, 1 plec and 1 Birchir.

Importing live stuff into Ozland WILL be tricky (and expensive) at best. I think you would be better off getting new set of same fishes once you are there ... unless of course you hav a particular reason for wanting to move those fish with you.

youve got buckleys chance of getting your fish through our quarantine laws buddy, your best bet would be to start over fresh once you get here, weve got everything in your collection here, the price of your fish maybe different though..

Where abouts in Aus you moving too?

I will most likely be in Brisbane or Cairns, but my plans may change between now and the end of next year when i plan to leave here. I am a scuba diving instructor so i will most likely be somewhere between civilization ie where there are other young like minded people and where the diving business is best.

I have never tried this, but I agree with the other poster that it will be difficult, if not impossible to pull this off. Give away your fish before you leave, and then rebuy down there.

Think about the fish too. It is going to be stressful for them to travel all the way there, be in temporary quarters, etc. This is particularly true if the fish are pretty large now.

Not to mention, it will be less stressful for you as well to just rebuy fish down there.

Its looking like i'm going to have to sell up my setup and fish and buy new when i move, its more than a year away still so not too phased about it at the moment, how much do fish cost over there ie 8'' Oscars and Jags, 12-14'' Clown Knives??? Oh and what arros are available over there???

OH and thanx everyone for all the feedback:grinno::grinno::grinno:
