Improving your Arowanas Color

How do you go about improving the reds, blues , violets and pinks and all the other colors of your arowanas ?


List them here ..

if u wanna get colors such as blues and violets out i wld think commercial prepared food would be the best. No way to increase those hues with natural food i would think.

that limits the amount of color u can get out even after enhancement.

But admittedly there are certain ingredients in commercial foods that can enhance the colors of fish. But to only the point where the genetics allow.

from what i've heard:

shrimp and krill for orange and red
spirulina for green and blue

and i've also heard that feeding insects would also improved their gold shine but i'm not sure about this one

spiralina is working well for me just give it ago what have you got to lose

I agree with gut loading food with a spiralina based flake.

I feed beef heart, shrimp, freeze dried krill, hakari pellets, and once in a great while feeders. His color is coming out very well (for a silver) here are some pix of his fins.

Is there anything different i should try?

i have one of those purple lights on my tank..

its a purple blulb.. brings the color out on my sliver great

In regards to shrimp bringing out pink coloration, this is why flamingos are pink.
