given the unusual pattern, i do agree that it could be a hybrid, which crossed my mind when i saw the pics although hard to know for sure. the possibility is definitely there seeing that most senegal juvies for sale now are farm-bred, and this one is probably too.
what i was trying to say earlier was that had this fish had the normal senegal pattern, the fact that it has less dorsal finlets would not rule out any chance of it being a senegal. i once had an ornate with 6 dorsal finlets. the situation here is different because the fish also has some unique markings. Just between palmas ssp. and senegal hybrid, i would say hybrid given these pics. only time will tell though.
