When I first set up my 14g saltwater it was a blue spot jawfish. only $50 couldn't pass it up fish jumped into back of tank 3 days later. rescued him after two days back there and he did it again. Second time he was not so lucky

18" pleco. i put with my 8 piranhas. i have an 8" pleco that is still with them that was with them since i got them. they got the 18" pleco on his back and ate his sucker and then his face

I had a tank covered with algae, so I bought a chinese algae eater. He ate himself to explosion. Whoops.

A tiny two and a half inch Red-Tailed Catfish. Named him Guido. Had no freakin' clue. He grew. We built the pond. Guido is now almost two feet long after twelve months. Whew! One hell of an impulse buy.

Another Oscar when I had a 9'' one already.
A Flowerhorn when I thought it was a Trimac, then come to find out Trimacs are super aggressive as well.

hmmmm i had a 230g in my first restaurant, was at a1 aquarium they had a baby aro and I says cool looking fish could you get me 2 of them only a bit bigger. 4 mths later the phone rings my bigger aro are in I go get 2 10" silver and put them in my tank 1 week later and 2 well fed aro left this was years and years ago muahahahhah

We had a lawnmower blenny that did the same thing in our SW tank. The tank got ich, so I moved and medicated everyone. Bumped temp and salinity in the main tank, waited six weeks, and moved everyone back. There wasn't any algae in the hospital tank, so he was having to live off of the algae sheets.... put him back in the tank, and it took a couple of months, but he ate so much that his stomach literally split. It was really strange.

I can't really think of a terrible fish impulse buy I've made. My last impulse buy was my South American lung I got 2 months ago. He's gone from about 2" to almost 5 pretty quickly. At this point I don't regret it at all (and I doubt I ever will). He is probably my favorite fish I've ever had
