Impulse buy....

there's also a great sticky in the planted tank section that covers everything related to co2 if you guys are interested :)

When I ran Co2 on my 125g planted tank, I used a dual gauge regulator on a 20lb tank. I couldn't imagine using only a single gauge regulator. But then I work with nitrogen and argon tanks with dual gauge regulators on a daily basis, so I guess that biases me towards them.

Considering they're not much more expensive than a single gauge, there's no reason not to buy one...

not dual guage, dual STAGE ;)

you cant use a single gauge regulator on a planted tank. the first guage shows the tank's pressure, the second gauge shows the working pressure. the needle valve is controlling the working pressure.

Sorry, I used the wrong wording there. I meant dual stage regulator. We have some very delicate instruments here that would likely be damaged by small increases in pressure, not to mention the experiments themselves require a very stable pressure to achieve accurate results.
