Did you get the pump for your wet/dry box? Cause if that was included in the $300 then you got an awesome deal. If not a new one will probably run you at least another $300 if not more.

yeah, it came with a iwaki md-30rlt, looks like an older model. not sure about the specs on the pump either, havent lookd into it. the specs on the pump is crossed out and someone wrote 19 gallons a minute. i havent had time to mess with the tank just yet, so im not quite sure on what fixings ill need for the tank. the only thing that seems to be missing is the return piping/tubing and bulk head for that. ive already got the bulkheads for the intake.

oh yea, lemme see how your overflow/ sump is lined up.

And i have no idea what im gonna keep in the tank as of now.. but the tank seemed like a good deal and i couldnt pass it up.

thanks

im a bit confused but i wanna help cuz i like plumbing... what parts are you missing aside from the bulkhead?.

if you were going to use the ribbed tubing that came with the tank then you would need to get a slip bulkhead and glue the ends into it..

i recommend buying a new return pump because iwaki isint that great.....

but let me know if you want to scrap what you can or if your willing to buy some new stuff.. and ill help you fit it up ;)

Sorry don't have pics of this wet/dry box, I have the stand tapped shut so my 16month old son doesn't play in the water in the box.

Hope this give you some kind of an idea

No it isn't necessary. It actually can be a source of false security. In time, as the seal ages, it will do less of a perfect job of sealing. Years down the road during a power failure it can allow the tank to slowly leak down into the sump. If the sump can not handle the water volume, there will be a mess to clean up when you get home. It is always better to design without check valves when ever possible.

An easy remedy is to drill a small hole just under the water level. If the water leaks down to the hole, it will break the syphon.
