Great deal cant wait to see when it's done.

Okay well here is my initial plan this is how the original owner had it set up 2x1" inch returns on each side T it off into one line have a check valve on it all will be 1" I.D line. The red squares are plugs I won't be using those holes.

For the feed section
2 outlets from overflow maybe T or Y the 1" line into one bigger diameter line or maybe just have 2 feeds directly to sump...

cool little thing I did on paint lol

Anyone see any issues please comment as it is my first time setting up a wet/dry...

Looks like you got it right there in your diagram. I have two returns to and from mine also.

good luck. It sounds like you an impulse DIYer too! I suffer from this as well

So I was finally able to get some work done this weekend and overcome some obstables and indecisions. The stand was basically done, except I couldn't decide whether I wanted to stain the wood or just paint it black. After a while, I said screw it I'm going to stain the wood even though it'll take longer. The measurements and deciding what goes where took some time. I decided on 1/2" red oak bought a 8x4 piece for around 40 bucks. The long cuts I had done at Home Depot but the rest of the smaller cuts I did with a jig saw at home. The un-straight edges I sanded down with a power sander. Here is what I used to prep and stain the wood

Wood conditioner to prep the wood for staining, and then the stain. Easy to do, just remember to brush the stain with the grain...and distribute stain evenly. Check areas you stained every few minutes to brush away bubbles to keep the stain uniform.

I also put on clear coat to prevent moisture from warping the wood...Pretty happy with the turnout, once its fully assembled I'll post it up.

Today I got the wet/dry sump started.

I used my old fish tank I had lying around that I wasn't using. I sketched out the wet/dry first and then did the measurements. I cut cardboard as templates and then placed them where I wanted. Again went to Home Depot picked up acrylic 1/4" the big sheet they had was 36x48 or something like that.

The gun with silicone...its like welding keep the silicone bead going

The Drip Plate

My choice to cut acrylic, again with a jig saw 18 teeth per inch this one is for metal they have ones for acrylic too

I bought silicone and had a caulking gun it came out okay the acrylic for the most part stayed put with 2 pieces of tape on each end with the tank on its side. The pump section I made small so I had trouble getting the gun in there to lay down the silicone so that came out kinda messy...its like welding u have to lay down the silicone bead forward of the tip and just glide it along keeping that silicone continuously going. Laid down a few nice ones, others got kinda messy lol
