So many fish that I can’t even remember them all. Many plecos that I currently have were impulse buys. I will say that there was 1 impulse buy that I have never regretted and will never regret which was my first Wallace’s shoehead catfish. It did die in my care because I was immature and went about it all the wrong way but because of that impulse buy I now have 3 which are currently living. I won’t say thriving because I’m not writing myself out of the danger zone until I’ve had them a year but they are surviving at least. I fell in love with the catfish the moment I saw the picture of the first one, I literally paced back and forth throughout the night until sunrise thinking about whether I should buy it. I was lucky no one else bought it when I finally decided to buy it.

Three 3/4" haitiensis fry for me. My LFS had a dozen or so and I told myself no at the time. About 2 weeks later I went back in and these three fry were left, and I couldn't help myself. They hit two inches, and two of them paired up and spawned. Now I'm up to my eyeballs in haitis that are bigger then the original three I bought, all before I even knew if I had males or females lol!

My lfs had a tank full of puffers under 2in a couple months ago. I asked what they were and almost bought one. I looked them up when I got home and was very happy I had not purchased. They were Fahaka and I'm not in a position to house a small dog in a 400g plus aquarium.

Went to a new store and saw a chocolate cichlid for first time. It was a good size not a juvenile so I could put it in my 125 and not have it killed right away. It followed me everytime I walked by tank and my toddler was in love with it. He just stood there at that tank talking to it. I went back and forth for 20 minutes then left the store. Went to my usual store and they have a tank of 50 juvenile chocolates, they have never had them before. They are tiny but I took it as a sign. Got back in car went to other store and bought chocula (thanks toddler for naming). I really like the color and personality and glad I gave in to temptation. My son wants to go to tank to feed chocula every few hours so I talk him out of it, he really loves this fish and tells everyone about chocula.

Messes up all my tank plans since it will get big but I will work around it.
