I just found a perfect place to put my planted tank (T5HO) inside a closet. Im looking to make it closed off. with cabinets on the bottom to hold the Co2 tank and Filter. Then the tank. Then above the tank i will make accesses doors but have them hang down in front of the tank, An buld them into the top cabinet. I will also mount the lights here to. This will make it easy for me to remove the tank just but lifting the front door up or if i need to change anything inside. What do u guys thing? Im drawling something up right now so bare with me for a few hour with out plans.

One more thing. This has to do with the Title lol. So the tank is inclosed.... how do u go about venting the heat out? Cuz right now on my other tank there is soo much water evaporation on my canopy top that it messed it up... Or should i just line the top of the area that the fish tank will be in with some water res stuff so it cant do a number to the cabinets? or make vents with small PC fans?

One more thing. Can a CO2 tank me places on its side? or at a 45?
Any ideas are welcome thanks u.

Here a lame paint idea. The fart fan style is just a simple little fan to remove the heat to another place ... all tho i cant send it up out the roof like a fart fan bcuz i don't have any exit in the roof. So i was just gona vent it into my addict. Or just dont make one at all. and have some kinda of front vent hole in the swing door.

you can waterproof the lid and the water will drip back into tank
or like u said run a fan ouside or something (your water will evaporate really fast and you will have to top off often if u use a fan)
not sure if i get it (the heat is not a problem for the tank exept it causes evaporation right?)

Well Im running a T5HO 2 bulb set up, It does put off alot of heat plus the tank will be running around 81temp. I just want to play it save. If i didnt have a fan and say i water proofed the hole top... the water might run down the back on the sockets. So i thought if i get some type of vent... to just let the heat flow out. The water on the lip wont be that bad. I need to msg some one and get right idea on how high i can place the lights to still give the tank just the right amount of light.

good idea... maybe get waterproof plastic for the drywall above it... or switch it out for waterproof dry wall...

What about water proof paint or stain? i can place another back wall on the hole thing just to make sure it will all be water proof. N just paint to wood.

Oh damn i should of double checked my first post hah. sorry for the wrong words :x

ok i hadnt seen the diagram
water will cling to walls and drip down and cause a mess
your options are to put a glass or acrylic top on the tank(2 sliding pieces)
or run a fan which could cause problems(might not take all the humidity out and it would still run agaisnt the walls)

OH! my brother just gave me a good idea... I think its good sound cool... make a trim all the walls... and have it flow back into the tank... like a rain gutter. E? lmao I might have to go with the covered top. and just clean it every now and them to make sure it doesnt cloud the light going into the tank. This also means i can place the light right on top of the tank. 0.0!

Another thing what about the Co2 tank? if i cant place it on it side i can make a hole on the bottom and make it some what standing upright.

lol:D
dont know what u mean with the co2 bottle but if u have enough space in back or side of the tank drill a hole there and it will stand up

I'm liking the idea of a water catch. hah has anyone made something like this?

If i stand the co2 tank up behind the fish tank i believe it stand right in the middle... so it would be hard to reach from the top or bottom.
