Carefull with the check valves, home ones work with 40-60 psi and may create to much baxk pressure for you pump. Bilge pump check valves are lower pressure, but still... if you can use the hole in the pipe idea great, can't beat the price. Can your water rise enough to start the flow/siphon (prime) again ?
