In praise of petsmart

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Im sure ill get flamed for this statement ..but the only people who have problems with fish stores are people who have no idea what they want or require to take care of fish. Tossing everything together and then blaming the store for not stopping there actions ..If you really care you would have looked up the info yourself. Youll be surprised what you learn not depending on others, but then..you cant blame anyone.......
(((OK SEND THE HATE MAIL !!! IM GONNA BURN !!!)))

I just came back from a Petsmart that just opened up, their fishes are priced somewhat high but they really do keep their tanks cleaner than Petco. but I can see why they dropped the saltwater stuff, that they can't take care of too well.

I was just at petsmart today. According to them, Petenia splendida reaches 8" and only needs a 20 gallon aquarium...

only bad thing pet smart has is the tags
Pacu said 55. tank if ok. . . . . . . .:grinno: its not lol

petsmart is usally cleaner then pet CO.
both are good when it comes to some stuff. . . . .

Petsmart is like any retail store. Some are better than others. It comes down to if they care about their customers or not!

Most wild caught fish have parasites, they need to be treated when brought in from the wild.

I've kept many Wild Caught fish, and I've only had one that had any form of Parasite, so subjectivly, I'm going to disagree with you here.

I don't really see how its an employees fault for customer ignorance.

They are just dong their job... which is basically feed the fish occasionally, get rid of the dead ones, bag fish when told what the customer wants, right down the fish price on bag, say "have a nice day" and move on.

See you can blame the employee when they try and tell you bogus information like you cant house and Oscar with other fish because they eat gold fish so they will eat the other fish even though they are stuffed in a 12"x12"x12" cube with 8+ other oscars and they are fine.

or they try and tell you an apollo shark gets huge showing a 1.5ft with their hands or try and tell you a green severum gets close to 2ft...

so when an employee thinks they know what they are talking about but really doesnt is what gives experienced fish keepers a bad experience

Did you catch them yourself or did you buy them. Seems to me that wholesalers or the colectors would have already treated for parasites, to protect thier stock.

Hey its true...in giant chain stores every store cannot be the same its true. BUT it SHOULD be. The great experiences that a few of you have had at Petsmart should be THE SAME EXPERIENCES EVERYONE HAS at EVERY PETSMART.

Have you had a poor experience at petsmart?
