where are the fish going to swim

might work but why not just get a cheap internal filter

i still need realy good filtration system.

not worth it all, lose room in tank, hob's should do fine for a 20 gallon

ok.

Yes it will work.

Get a piece of plexy to fit inside from front to back and topp to bottom.

Cut slots in the top .5" long for the length of the plexy (like a come) this will set the water level.

Get a small pump like http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=45305 .

Place it in the bottom of the tank at the end you want the sump them insert the plexy panel .25" away from the pump (so it can be removed if necessary) then remove pump and silicone the panel in place.

After 3 days (so silicone has cured completely) re-install the pump with tubing to reach the top, place scrubbies for 2/3 of the sump from the bottom up, then two layers of poly-fil.

Put a pvc elbow on the tubing and attach a spray bar to it that runs the length of the tank.

Hey! You got an internal wet sump filter with a 7x turnover rate and only lost 10% of the tank volume.
