How long can snails remain inactive? I have 3 mystery snails and one has become completely inactive, but is alive. I have checked water parameters as I know invertebrates can be super sensitive to ammonia, and the water is good at the present. Originally when i first noticed a problem, he was floating around aimlessly so I tested the tank and found a small amount of ammonia. I did a large water change and cleaned my CF. Since then the parameters have been fine, but he has never become very active, only moving a couple times in weeks. I have of course checked to make sure he is not dead, and he does not appear to be--no smell at all, closes door when picked up, etc. I don't want to take him out if he's not dead of course but...how long can he remain like this or should I do something different? He used to be the most active snail in there. Other two are doing great...Thanks for any suggestions.

I think most snails can go through a period of inactivity for a while. My trapdoors did.
What kinda snails are they? I bought "mystery" snails and turns out it was just lazy labeling. They are(I believe) black racer nitrate snails. I rarely see them durning the day. For a while I thought they all died. Turns out they cruz the tank at night but hid behind the same rocks everyday. Lol
