The only fish that I bred more then 1 generation of were guppies and they just kept on breeding for a few generations. Never got to be a problem since after a few generations there were not enough hiding places so maybe 2 out of 100 guppies would make it to adulthood.
Now if I had been doing a breeding project with them or breeding them to sell I wouldn't have let much inbreeding occur.
I still miss those red guppies...

You are a fool my opinions with not change because you run to try to get cheerleaders. You are a true fool because you have no idea what the purpose of the fish I'm breeding are for. I have adult pair of Haitians and a pair of their fry in case something happens to them. All the fry my adult pair have been having for the last few months are used for feeders. Any fry from the young pair will be also used as feeders. I very very sell fish anymore to people other than my friends, I haven't sold fish in this site in years and probably will never again so it's makes no difference if my feeders are inbreed. Stop trying to run other people's tanks and worry about your own FOOL. Also I breed working performance dogs for years so I know all about inbreeding, linebreeding and outcrossing Fool. I'm done feel free go on and on with your mute point. Before you decide to tell me what to do with my fish maybe you should have asked what my plans for them were you FOOL.
We get you think I'm a fool, no need to scream it over and over, and if you bothered to actually read your own post you said something along the lines of "no one in the hobby cares about inbreeding" or something to that effect, in other words I think this thread is proving you wrong, people here DO care.

I tried to leave your name out of this to protect your reputation and avoid embarrassment but you either don't care or lack the self control that's needed not to shoot yourself in the foot.

I didn't say anything about no one in the hobby cares I said I don't care about your beliefs FOOL maybe you should read the post. I am a grown man with a family and a life I could care less about a reputation on a fish board. Your shot yourself in the foot by running your mouth without enough info on what I was doing with the fish in the first place FOOL.

And this thread proves nothing other than you are a FOOL.

To some extent inbreeding occurs naturally, however it's limited by factors such as flooding, water level changes, migration, dispersion and such in the wild, which usually limits excessive inbreeding

Its just some info I found. People can read and make their on conclusions.

There was a huge discussion way back between dogowar, Duanes, & several experienced guys. I think it was said it took yrs for excessive inbreeding before any negatives came about.

I can't find it but it's an interesting discussion.

I'm not telling anyone how to keep their animals. Read as much info as you can find and make an informed decision.
