So a friend of mine has a fish farm and is giving me a whole bunch of 1-3 inch fingerlings including four 3in sturgeon, ten 3in black bass and assorted bluegills and redear sunfish (all 1-3 inches). I have an established 175 gallon tank that these will be going into until they grow big enough for my pond. My only question for you guys is: is there a temperature that all these fish will be comfortable at? Thanks a lot

Not sure about the sturgeon but for the bass and sunnies 64-76 F would be best. Sturgeon would probably do good in that range but don't quote me.

What species of sturgeon...? There are quite a few species from all different regions... specific species is crucial to giving you an accurate answer.

I would keep in in the lower end of that range. But they would do fine at 72º. How big is your pond? Be careful if your outside their native range are putting it in a pond.

I'm going to add a "me too" to this, white sturgeon Acipenser transmontanus are cold water fish, they might survive at warmer temps but in their natural habitat they live in colder water. It's interesting that Acipenser transmontanus is being sold to stock ponds, it is a west coast fish and wouldn't be native any where else. Can you give me a link to the fish farm?

I agree with the lower end temp. I just said 62-72 meaning 72 is the highest I'd go with the sturgeon in the tank. I think 62-64 would be optimal.
