I agree with the lower end temp. I just said 62-72 meaning 72 is the highest I'd go with the sturgeon in the tank. I think 62-64 would be optimal.
Oh I agree, I was just hoping for some more info, I was unaware that west coast fish are being shipped to stock ponds east of the rocky mountains.
I can't figure out why shovelnose sturgeons Scaphirhynchus platorynchus aren't being sold instead, they are far more adaptable to aquarium conditions, seldom grow more than 3 feet or so and are warm water fishes in many areas. One of those puzzles that makes no sense. Scaphirhynchus platorynchus was one of the first sturgeons bred and the US gov recommended they be released into the pet trade but for some reason the much larger and far less appropriate large cold water sturgeons are being sold...
