Incredible Angelfish behaviour...!

whats surprising is one pair of angelsfishs i had spawned inbetween a 3 day time period and was lay eggs WITH the wigglers!!!!
I don't know why they did what they did - my baby angels are always well fed on fresh hatched baby brine shrimp, so they were definetly getting enough food. In saying that, they ripped into those eggs and ate the embryos inside like they were starving - they were SO fat after that, I thought they would burst!
I havn't left fry with the parents for that long before, so it may or may not be something that they do naturally.
Could just be a way of feeding the young fish to increase survival rates.
Until they spawn again (they're in a separate tank now) I won't really know the answer to this.
As I said, on the day it happened, girl at my LFS, who I trust as being a knowledgeable fishkeeper, said she had seen the same thing happen with her cichlids, but the dad then ate all the remaining eggs AND the free swimming fry.
