Indecisive fish keepers?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I start with the money part then go to the space part. More money can often take care of the space issue, if needed. Time is more or less the easy one since I just need patience.

I can only imagine what it looks like we do from the view of a non-hobbyist. It's got to look like we just throw money, time and space away. But then it's hard to understand unless you get the kind of enjoyment like we do out of the practice. I even enjoy doing my maintenance. :)

I get bad indecisiveness, but only about choosing fish & going in "new" direction with stock, because I don't have DIY skills.

I view my fish as pets and thus keep them for life unless said life will be ended by the other fish. Since fish live too dang long this leaves my constantly rescaping my tanks or upgrading equipment that does its job just fine so that I can do something hobby related other than maintenance.

I think its important to change things/tweek the fish, set-up, scape to keep it interesting.I have been trying to flip non-fish people so I can have other tanks/stock to help my addiction, haha

If you can't provide a good/healthy habitat that meets the minimum requirements for the particular species to thrive it may be wise to save up and make it a goal instead of buying it and swinging an inadequate setup that will cost more money eventually when you need to upgrade the tank/filtration again!

I understand in the beginning of the hobby anything interesting and unique is appealing until you realize its a pacu that grows as big as a bike tire and have it in a 20gal!

Not to mention you still have to buy food/supplies and pay the utilities that come along with fk unless your chilling with the parents in which case go all out but take it from me if you save up and work for it you will appreciate it more!

Indecisive fish keeper is that the disease I have? lol. I am new here but been lurking for awhile now. I have been fish keeping for many years. I have had many types of fish through out the years including SA/CA Cichlids and NA Natives. It was the indecisiveness that brought me here, its been a long time since i have housed any monster fish and I have really been missing it lately. But yeah I always have a hard time planning and executing a new build it always changes many times from start to finish.
