Just Arrived: Indian Dwarf Mudskippers, Periophthalmus novemradiatus var.

Looking for mudskippers but don't have a lot of room? These fish may be just what you are looking for. The Indian dwarf mudskipper gets about 4" long TL and, unlike the African mudskipper, the males somewhat get along with each other (they will chase each other but rarely, if ever, kill one another, IME). Six of these fish can be housed in a 29 or 30 gallon tank without a problem. They do require brackish water, and I keep mine at 1/4 seawater. Given them plenty of climbing places (driftwood, rockwork, etc) as the more room, the better.
They are not fussy feeders, and will take frozen bloodworms, frozen mysis, flake food, small pellet food, and thye like. They also eat pinhead crickets.

They are $7.00/each, 6/$35.00, and 12/$65.00

Frank's Aquarium is located in Lindenhurst, NY. If you are nearby, you may arrange for a pick up. If not, shipping is not a problem.

that mudskipper looks like a sleeper goby

looking at your website how large does the spotted knight goby get is it compatible with monodactylis Argenteus (Sebae)?

This particular knight goby gets about 2.5" TL. I am not sure how compatable this fish would be with the Monos. The knight gobies do not appear to be aggressive, but I am not sure if the Monos would bother them. I wish I had a definitive answer for you.

cool animal

i would probably get some if they weren't brackish...

Yes, the do require brackishwater to do their best. I keep them at 1/4 seawater, and this seems to suit them fine. At this salinity, it's much like maintaining a freshwater tank rather than a marine tank.
