I have had a mono that ate little skinny blennies, I don't know what species they were but they were about 2" long and 1/4" long, the mono was about 6" long.
Great price on the mudskippers.

Monodactylus are really good at eating whatever they can get in their mouths. You wouldn't think it by looking at them, but they are good predators.

Thanks.

I should point out that these 'skippers are about 2" now.

oooooo i realy want one but i don't have a blackish set up :(

A brackish tank is easy enough to set up. Basically, it's the same life support system as you would use in any other tank (canister filter is the easiest to use). The only difference is the use of a calcareous substrate (I prefer fine oolitic aragonite sand) and the addition of a marine salt to 1/4 salinity, or thereabouts.

if i had a tank i would get some. how much is shipping for 6 of them?

Depending upon your ZIP code and the weight of the package, shipping will run anywere from $30-$35. Since they don't weight much, probably more towards the lower end.

I have seen mangrove plants for sale on the net- would a brackish water setup with some shallow water like yours allow the mangoves to grow, along with some rocks and such so they could get out of the water? What kind of crab is that in those pics? Can they live with carbs safely? That would be a great tank so setup with both. I had some african mudskippers a while ago, but one killed the other and then died himself.

This would work providing the skippers had enough space above the water to climb around. Rcks would do, as would driftwood.

It called the red claw mangrove crab.

Providing the tank is large enough and there's enough surface area for them to run around.

I had some african mudskippers a while ago, but one killed the other and then died himself.

Which is why I do not carry the African mudskipper. They get over a foot long and are aggressive as all heck. The Indian species is not that large nor is it as aggressive.
