its a 55 gallon tank. The sharks are just short of 5 inches in total length.
Dont worry, they will be moved when its appropriate.

will they join ya smoothhounds shark in ya pool 1 day ?
or they can't go together?

do u own or work in a petshop? getting them shipped from other countries? or is this possible to order no matter what?

being in australia i know customs are *****y cause tried to get stingrays from holland to here but is impossible cause of import rules on fish and all

Im surprised that australia isnt more popular shark wise. Youve got wobbies, eppies, port jacksons, access to Indonesia and the philippines not far away.

From what i read, you aussies make it sound like nothing is available. Is that true? or is it just poor LFS work?

As for the Indonesian Bamboos, i couldnt really tell you how to get them because i dont really understand the situation over there. The best i could do would be tell you to ask an LFS owner.
Sorry.

Sorry I didn't have time to warn you. These are some of the worse suited sharks for captive life. I've never seen anyone (including the places I've worked) keep them much more than a few months.

Good luck with them. At least you got them eating. Feed them small amounts often, that seems to be the key to keeping them going.

Theres still no definitive answer as to why they do so poorly in captivity?

Could it be something major like a temperature preference or supplement missing? Are they deepwater or shallow? different lighting schedule?

Something must be different if they do so poorly at regular tropical aquarium specifications.

Sorry.

reading zoodiver answer don't think i would wanne try them out gl hope they survive
as for getting them from other countries it's hard cause of the import rules here but will recheck about sharks
did check if i could import freshwater stingrays but couldn't import any stingray so hopefully different with sharks
gonna look into it when my tank is all good and running and ready for the shark

and yeah aussies are right it is hard to get sharks cause most LFS that used to be or are in saltwater closed down or have no sharks for sale did find one all they way in rockingham like a hour or so away no good with transport a hour drive and will be the big question if it's in stock
few years ago is was easier to buy the sharks u mentioned but now it aint
been to all my locals LFS but only a few left with saltwaterfish and they hardly have any fish let stand sharks or rays
could ask the LFS where i work very part time if they still have their saltwater fish supplier cause even them only had a few saltwater fish but could order but even them stopped with it cause they couldn't handle the filtering i was told
i bet allot of LFS have this problem i think cause allot are shutting down just a few still selling hope this change again 1 day
or they able to get any sharks not in a hurry just gonna cycle my tank and set it up in my own time not in a hurry

bit sorry that i sold my portjackson back then cause not much experience in salt when i bought the tank got the shark with it but thought the tank was to small for him and sold it to a LFS that is closed down now grrrr

They are found in the same waters (warm and somewhat shallow) as a lot of the more common bamboo sharks of the Pacific. Diet seems to be the kicker for them, as it's mostly small inverts.

Sorry.

We can import most saltwater fish, just not marine animals prone to making a disaster if they are intoduced. We should be able to get this shark, just dunno if I would want to.

was trying to get freshwaterstingrays as they are very cheap in holland
maybe it was a special type but ray pups for $1500 eachoverhere at LFS
i think is a bit overpriced for rays more looking up to $100 each
yeah fish but prefer sharks more wouldn't try this shark tho

hope they go well for ya dude
