Indoor native pond ideas

hello what native fish could work in a 2ft long 2ft wide 18 inchs deep pond? other than sunfish maybe grass pickerel or bull head?

Grass pickerel and bullheads will get too big for that pond size, only smaller sunfish species would work for long term. Rainbow darters, smaller madtoms, and top minnows would probably work. If the pond was longer and had a current, shiners and dances would work.

Since they get up to 14 inches but most likely 10-12. I’ll expect them to get spooked easily especially if it’s wild caught. 75 gallon minimum for a young adult and a 125 gallon minimum for life.

Depends on where you live, there are many minnows out there that would fit well. There are some game fish that would be ok as well, but a lot of what would work depends on what is local to you as well as your state laws.

Not a fish, but could do bullfrog tadpoles.

I live in ontario so catching wild fish is out of the question

I don't. I have his tank in the basement. Tank runs between mid 50s to high 60s depending on time of year.
