Ok, I'm a nut, but that's what this forum is for. I saw a website that had an inground pool turned into a tank for like stingrays and stuff. I got this idea
. I've seen some really big and EXPENSIVE projects that had glass windows and such...well that's for later in life. My idea was this heated outbuilding. I thought hey I could just set up an above ground pool and go swimming year round. Then I said, wait it would even be better to go snorkeling and raise some big fish. I dabble with some Tanganyikan stuff and would love to breed B. microlepis (Emperor cichlid). They get about 3' long, and I don't think anyone in N. America has breed them. I think some guys over in Poland did it in a 10,000g concrete pond/pool. I also would put some of my fronts in there. I agree most africans would be not fully enjoyed in a tank of that size having no windows. Anyone saw anything like that? I would have like 2" styrofoam underneath to help with heat loss through the concrete. I've done "kiddie" pools for grow out tanks in the past, but nothing like a say 28' pool. Again this is the type of pool seen behind so many people's houses.
