Well just about everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong with my order from Nick.

1.) I was charged over 20$ extra for shipping
2.) There was not 1 heatpack included with the fish-VERY COLD WATER
3.) I did not receive the right fish

Nick, I know that you have a reputation to uphold, but this is just too much. The fish are all very healthy, but things like this I just don't find acceptable.
Here is some evidence:

Pictures 1, 2, and 3-Do you see the label that says $32.80? I was charged much more and not even notified.

Pictures 4 and 5-Do you see a heatpack or adhesive residue? I don't.

Pictures 6, 7, and 8-How many cichla monoculus do you count? I see 6, but only ordered 5. I figured the orino I ordered might be in there aswell, but thats in picture number 9.

Picture 9- Does that resemble amia calva-the bowfin? No, that's the 1 orino I ordered. I received an extra mono instead of my bowfin! Who knows when he'll have another available.

Very sorry for my sour attitude Nick and the rest of MFK, but I'm sure you can sense my frustration.

I happen to work at the post office and see those go through all the time. The shipping on fish is usually much more than just a few bucks, (Not to mention weight makes a difference.). Are you sure you didn't miss anything?

My shipping was about the same (both charged and actual cost), but I don't mind. I just figured the extra would go to handling and all that.

However, it maybe should have had a heat pack and being sent the wrong order sucks, but it happens. I do understand your frustration, but I don't think this is common for him. I had no complaints about only order.

I ship myself, I know how much shipping costs...the box weighed no more than 6 pounds and measures 13x10x7. Lets add in the cost of the box, he charges 5$ per box, that's still a lot of extra charge. If I was notified, maybe I'd be okay with it. I can't add in the price of heatpacks or Ship-Right that was never in the box.
The mix-up is what bothers me the most.

Obviously, I'm still not happy, sorry.

I don't mind extra shipping costs much, but 23$ is quite a bit over and no notification of the extra shipping charge. That's 23$ that goes straight from my pocket to his. Vendors and the rest of MFK should not be charging any extra for shipping, that's almost stealing. Handling: it takes me less than 30 minutes to get everything ready and I just schedule a pick-up. No driving, no hassle. Does it say anywhere that he charges for handling/packing?-No.

I bought from him specifically for the bowfin, and no bowfin...sux:(

I too am surprised what happened, I've read nothing but positive feedback and doubt this will happen to others. BUT, this is inexcusable-everybody should know what happened.

Just received a pm from Nick:

He refunded me 10$ for the bowfin because none of them made it, but I never received a pm telling me that he did so. I have 2 emails and rarely check the one that my paypal is setup with. That will have to change...
He didn't include heatpacks because he didn't want to risk "cooking" the fish. Too bad the water was cold. Again, notification! I would have said to include a heatpack.
He included an extra mono in case of DOA-I thank you for that. :)
Still, extra shipping costs??

Sorry for all the consecutive posts:

Nick is refunding me the 20$, thanks.
The only problem was communication, everything else was fine.

I can assure you, if I had seen this before I responded and refunded you your money. This would have ended differently.

I am not a baby sitter and I am not responsable for making sure you check your personal e-mail. Funny how everyone else who I had to refund the bowfins for knew they had been refunded money without me telling them. I gave you an extra to help with Doa's, since you elected not to go the delta route and did not receive live arrival. There were no DOA's, so you got a free fish and you still manage to find something to complain about.

My job is to get your fish to you alive anyway I see fit. All of your fish made it alive and healthy and yet you still find something to complain about. I already explained to you why I chose not to use heat packs on these fish.

Next time you may want to wait for an answer and reply from the source before you go trashing them in public.

The only sure thing you have secured with this post is the fact that you will no longer be allowed to purchase fish from us in the future.

To the OP, thats not a very good way to conduct a transaction. If you had a problem with a vendor, you should have contacted them first and allowed them to respond before you bad mouth them on a public forum and try to damage their reputation...

And i'm personally glad that Nick has decided to stop selling you fish

Honestly doesn't seem like that big of a deal. If it was a case of mis-communication and bowfin monies were refunded.. You sent him an extra mono/charged a little bit extra for shipping but a. everyone does usually lol b. online estimates aren't always correct with the fuel surcharge so it's hard to get an online shipping qoute and have it be correct to the dollar.
