Inexpensive DIY Plywood Ideas

For example,how about something like this as a front piece? Looks to be ~1/2", I would find out obviously.

Depending on the thickness, it could work. Also, I don't have to fill it to the top, ive seen some nice set-ups with plants coming out of the water. Kind of a semi-vivarium set-up. Is table glass ok since its tempered???
 
just a little note...laminated glass do not go well with silicone , due to some chemical reaction it will cause some delaminating near the area surface with silicone...
 
hell yeah thats a good price for glass
thickness will determine water level but a semi-vivarium set-up would be cool

i only live about ten minutes from purdue
and i have built my own plywood and glass tank so i do have a little experience

Hey thanks maybe I could come take a look some time. I think I'm going to just keep my eye out for materials, so I can actually do it this summer. I might buy the piece listed above. A similar piece form an actual shop was quoted to me at $255. Seems to be steal. I'm going to keep looking. A circular window could look cool... HEHE
