Well. I went away for a week with college and my mum was taking care if my fish - feeding them basically. Well, she has always remained that my plec isn't alive because she never see's it move. So, whilst i was away i get a phonecall from her and she says "I think your plec is dead", and i though here she goes - it hasn't moved in an hour or watever. So i replied. "Why whats up?" and she said "Well its floating and the other fish are eating it!" So yes it was dead - killed by my convicts i presume. The water params were checked by my bro and checked out okay, so i guess the con fry i returned to had caused it.

I have a tank in my office at work. I often return to the office and find my coworkers staring into it. My boss asked me how I do it to which I responded what. How do you keep them alive? He goes on to tell me about his 30g and everything but the pleco dying. I asked him the obvious, how often do you do water changes. Dead Blank Look. Like I just spoke chinese. I tell him theres your problem and do it once or twice a month and, oh by the way, here's a test kit, keep it. This was friday. Monday rolls arround and he comes in my office fuming. The water change stunk up his whole house over the weekend and I did it on purpose. How longs it been between changes for you? He says never done one. How longs the tank been set up? Couple years...I just get this mental picture of water so thick its like jello.

he doesn't. a 12 inch fish in a 12 inch wide aquarium means the aquarium is too small. he needs a 75 at least.

Oh I thoght that it would be fine because they are thin. They are slow growers so I have about a year to upgrade.

One time my mom bought me a brand new aquarium with brand new fish. We went to get some hatchetfish and put them in and all was fine. Next morning they were all dead; we forgot the water conditioner....

Dude dont be too bummed when a fish dies, yeah you can be alittle and it can be hard but look at it how I do! If a fish dies it tells you theres something wrong, Find out what happedend, Fix the problem then when its all good and you leaned your lessen, Get something even better! when my H. scombs die Im going for gold and looking for an H.armatus! great looking setup also:)
When I had 8 rbps and I would always be mad cuz i would come home and they wouldnt eat and always run and hide, I turn my back and they would eat each other even when there was food in the tank. I sold them and got a black rhom and I love him haha

one time i let my best friend use my extra 20 gallon cause i had no use for it and he only wanted it for a few months before he left for the marines. well one day i go over there and he is all excited to show me his new fish, i look in the tank and there is a huge 2 foot snowflake eel. 2 months later it jumped out while he was sleeping and died :/

Shortly after I first got my shoal of clown loaches I get a text from my wife saying they're all dead. I assumed they were just adjusting and asked why she thought that to which she responded that they're all laying on their side and normal fish don't do that. I forgot to tell her that CL's aren't normal and like to play dead. She figured it out when they all started swimming when she tried to net them out. Now I always get asked if any of my new fish are weird or stupid.

My grandma is all about being super squeaky clean. So she cleaned her 40g out squeaky clean and the same with the filter....... Next 2 days all the fish died she had cleaned the tank so well she ruined her good bacteria. :( she was very upset. And I had to explain why.

My mom bought me my first fish tank, a 10 gallon complete setup from Walmart. And without knowing diddly poo we filled it with water and through in three zebra danios. Those poor zebra's were dead by morning. We didn't know that the water had to be dechlorinated. We didn't know.
