Infection?

I don't think I can offer much more help Rup but hopefully he comes around for you. What are you treating with? Is the other ray doing ok? Beautiful spotting on him.

What did you use to treat?

Many here believe in meds as kind of a last resort. I use them the first sign of something bad. Anything that even looks remotely bacterial and I salt and treat. Lost too many rays to bacteria. Prior to treatment it's a good idea to give your filtration a good inspection. Any gunked up bio? Plugged mechanical filtration allowing contamination of bio? Any canisters that are over do for a cleaning? Seemed like every time I had bacterial issues I found poorly maintained filtration. After knowing what to look for I was sometimes able to remedy the problem with a massive filter cleaning and salt alone if caught early enough, but if not meds were needed. Unfortunately it seems really hard to track down Binox these days, and haven't had a chance to find anything that seems to work as well. Have a KG of Bifuran here, but since keeping filters clean it's been a while since any bacteria has popped up here.

Is this the only ray in the tank? If not, and it is bacteria, it's likely just gonna go after the next weakest......

looks like the slime coat is peeling off. I've had that happen to my motoro before and i have 2 hystrix in the same tank only the motor was affected. Plenty water change and salt took care of it for me. No medication needed.

Well I came home today to find him dead!😥 He looked peaceful, had no curl, just dead. The underside was red. I'm totally crushed! My female still looks great and is still active. Should I keep treating the tank or just monitor the fish and ray?
