inflatable fishing boat

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm pickin up the boat tomorrow. . . was gonna try it out on sunday but I think I'm gonna stay in town now. If you're handy at all, why not try buildin a boat. I was goin to, and I still probly will sometime this summer, but this inflatable one was on sale and we can take it in the car to save gas instead of usin my 1980 chevy truck. . . There's a bunch of plans on this website, and I was about ready to do it, but I couldn't find the right size plywood and this thing will get me on the water quicker . . . anyway, check out www.vintageprojects.com
My plans was to build an 12 foot jonboat in 2 sections(one 8 ft., one 4 ft.) that bolt together and use bondo in the seams before i painted it. . . you could do it pretty cheap, but for $100 and the option to save gas and the fact I could be on the water tomorrow? this inflatable seams like an all around good deal to me. . . . I've gone on for way too long. You have no idea how excited I am to pick this thing up.

I would get a used Zodiac instead. Multi-chambered gives you better safety.

zodiacs are pretty expensive even used. ive seen a few on ebay at decent prices but very rarely. ill just have to keep looking

It comes down to how much you think your life is worth or how far you think you can swim.

I usually take too much tackle when I go fishing so the boat is the least expensive part! :D

lol ya same here! a zodiac would probably be the best thing i could get but if i decide to go for one i wouldnt be able to afford the monster tank build i was planning on starting within the next couple months! im not so sure about used inflatables so id prefer new and under $600. i havent seen any in that range that are a decent size

i have an Intex Excusion 5. great little boat for the money. we use it to go rafting a lot and it works well. im sure it would work fine for floating in a lake and fishing
