info about keeping BGK

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
had to give them away :(
as my jar didn't like them much:irked:
anyways i think its good for them
my jar always assumed my BGK's tail to be a worm or something :screwy:

That was a good idea because the BGK's would have been food in no time.. they really are a timid type knife and should be kept in a community environment that is non aggressive and friendly.. they need time to grow and feel confident ..many starve to death due to hiding and never get enough food.. their are some exceptions but most are on the shy side.. the jar would have definitly killed them..

I guess I better keep an eye out fot the tetra's, guppys etc.:nilly:

Yes in that case the guppys and tetras may be a meal when BGK gets bigger..mine did go after guppies once he grew... so i should say most community fish are compatible ... but the BGK is aggressive to what he can fit in his mouth.

Dude next time do some research BEFORE buying the fish...
I did research, I just put him in a 55 community tank to grow out. I told the wife he might eat a couple of her fish, she's cool with it. We're waiting to put him in a bigger tank. Thanks though.:)

its kind of hard for me to believe that the BGK may attack or even try to eat other fish they kind of look so docile and calm and very graceful fish who wouldn't harm anything but then i should know better i guess after i saw my 14" koi eat my 1"+ black guppies.
