Ive heard that you cant house a male and a female together for a long time, only for breeding. Is this true?

it is usually best to keep either sex seperate anyway, but I guess it's up to you. Kingsnakes have the habit of eating each other and of course there is the too much copulation/too young copulation added to it as well. Not a big fan of mixing snakes, but these even more so.

We have a number of kingsnakes and other than a short breeding period we always keep them seperate. We have housed both corn snake pairs and Bull snake pairs together full time but never with kingsnakes.
