hi i am new proud owner of a 7-8 inch knife:) ive seen people hand feeding them i was wondering how i could do this? ive allready held and pet him with no problems, and also an advanced info on him would be awesom,i still want a third opinion on his tankmates 3.8-4" african pike well he eat my pike thanks again:)

Long as the pike grows as fast as the knife it shouldn't be a problem :P

How big of a tank are these two in?

Petting is not a good idea. Takes off the protective slime. Never gotten any of mine to eat out of my hand but ive seen it done. Good luck.

mine eats hikari pellets and massivore pellets.. that is a healthy diet to grow by

I don't see a problem with the pike, but it totally depends on the individual fish. You could have a nasty one, or a nice one.:) And yeah, if the knife grows way faster than the pike you may have a problem.

My clown would eat from my fingers if I let it, but I'm scared it would bite me lol!

its in a 60 gallon for now i have to african pike the other almost 5" , and i have a 5" payara.6" hujeta, 9" shovel nose cat, 3" gourami,3" pictus cat,4" african butterfly. i know its very over crowded. i am getting 240 gallon next week:) so any other info on the rest of his tank mates would be nice, and as far getting biten from then they have no teeth.

Lol, that shovelnose is going to get too big for the tank and eat its tankmates btw.

i have a 240 gallon coming soon and all his tank mates are half is size or bigger besides the pictus cats and the 3.8 pike so i think itll go well, id like a second opinion on the last post from i<3fish. thank you
