Info on iridescent sharks

Despite their huge size they live in shoals in flowing highly oxygenated water.
They are probably the most unsuitable fish for aquariums in the hobby.
Pangasius sanitwongsei and Pangasius sutchi are also giants and sold for the hobby.
I would stay well away if I were you. Unless you own a large river.
You probably could keep them if you owned a large 2000+ gallon pool, so the sharks could swim around in circles without constantly banging into corners. I don't think it would necessarily be impossible...

True
I said,unsuitable for "aquariums".
I think a pool large enough to support a shoal of 6 or more fully grown Pangasius with high flow rates and rich oxygenated water is beyond the realms of most hobbyists.
I don't think any of the ones I saw recently at the Pets at home store are destined for such good fortune.

Oh yeah, most of those catfish are probably going into a standard 10 gallon.

hello i am new here. i wanted to ask if i have enough room for my irredescent sharks. i have a three foot by three foot pool pond. in it i have four irredescent sharks. three black and one albino. one of the black one is almost 1 foot while the other two are 8 to 7 inches long. the albino one is 6 inches. with them i have four silver dollars, each about 4 to 5 inches long. there is also a albino oscar about 4 inches and a raphaeil catfish, 6 inches long. the sharks are in it for for 8 months but only growed 1 or 2 inches. is there enough room for them since they are not growing that fast.

You just read a few posts up that these fish can be 3 or 4 feet long as adults...and that they are active, fast-swimiming fish that need space...and that when placed in small tanks are virtually doomed to die an early death.

So...no...you can't expect to keep four of them healthy in a four foot tank...unless you are okay with the whole "early death" thing.
