Thank you.. that is a negative for sure.

Toxic fins--will eat anything it can fit into their very large mouth.

Lizz, not a fish for you. Does not interact, like you like. You won't see it. Filiportela has some ( I gave mine away ), send him a PM and ask him if it is worth it ( well, for that crazy mutha it sure is worth it :) )

Haha Okay ... i think unless my hubby wants to give it a species only tank i will pass on it..thanks Miguel.. :D

I own a pretty big stone fish right now. They are definately cool fish, but yeah, mine hides under a log structure so you can only see its head.

It's already picked off two of my mollies, 3 fiddler crabs and I suspect it ate both my beautiful dragon gobies.

BUT, it is a really cool fish. But yeah, unless you have bigger fish than it, its not going to fit for you.

A few different species though I guess in brackish section and it being most available you've prob seen B. trispinosus. I really like them, they are interesting... but I suppose they can get pretty boring quickly. I like a species only tank, but being they like to burrow planted tanks aren't always the best idea, and you need a lot of substrate. There is a FW species or two that are available in the hobby though, which I'll be honest, I prefer.

Davo, thats the species I have. I have a plastic ornamental cave, which I've put on its side on the side of the tank so you can see whats in it.

They don't do much, but if you love oddball fish, they are great. You just have to be mindful that if it can fit in their mouth, they're going to eat it. However, if the fish isn't on the bottom, it might not get eatten, stonefish don't hunt that I know of so much as scoop up any fish that come in their reach.

I mean, its a cool fish, its got nice coloring, but... its lazy, hides and is defiantely venomous and dangerous, and will eat other fish.

Thanks for the info .. i have already decided to pass on it.. not because i did not think it was cool..because i do.. and i would not care if it just layed there... most of the time..but i really did not want to get into a species only tank right now..
