No, the pattern or color will not fade. 100% sure. I agree, the aro that you are seeking to buy can live up to the beauty of the Asian aros, for sure!! If I had $1200 in some form, this aro would of been gone long ago, really wish my area had one too!
 
that's very nice. I saw something slightly similar from a shop here - red dragon darra. Not for sale though. I want to keep some normal as well and make them darker, any special things you do on your tank? Noticed you have black/white stones and black background? I plan to get a few jardinis down the track with this jet black "poor man's arowana" as the main feature in the tank.
