Considering that you just got him I would think he maybe a little timid in new surrounding. They are not the most aggressive but they generally can take care of themselves.

I had the same one that Bderick has now. I had several different combinations of fish in with him that he got along great with, including Silver Dollars, Uarus, Bichirs, Catfish, Rainbow Fish, etc... I found the ones he showed aggression towards were other aggressive Cichlids (no suprise there). So there's something for you to think about when you're looking for new tankmates for him.

my 7" argentea is a sissy. a 6" blood parrot bully him. he hides when the BP is roaming and only comes out when the BP is away.
