Just let it grow out longer than you normally would (at leat 1/4 inch past the end of your toe) and keep it at that length. It should solve this problem, just don't cut your chick with it while you are sleeping..

soak your foot in hot water first and rub that toe then cut it out....and even though people says its for women get a pedicure it works the best... and im an all-conference athlete so dont give me any crap about being a sissy.

I used to have this problem. Ends up it was the gradual migration of my toenail from the top of my toe to the side. Just be happy you're normal.

This is SOOOOOO true, sometimes they find them on me and I didnt even know I had them! pedicure is the best way to go and cheaper then a Doctor bill, and if you cant do it yourself, that's your best option

I get them every 6 months, I just trim it myself and wait for it to grow back. I think my toe grows in a curved position(this has been going on for 30 years.)

I only got them once or twice and quickly figured out not to cut the nail. I just soak the toe in hot water and lift the nail up out of the bed, slide a bandaid under the nail and give it a day or two. Now I keep them long and trim them only occasionally.

Ha ha...the first time I had this done I went to the doctors and didnt get my feet numbed or anything. He started to go to work and my mom asked me if I wanted to hold her hand. No I said. My foot started to bleed purple blood. My mom asked me if she could hold my hand ha ha.

I was a non-all conference athlete who just let my feet bleed...I was a kicker. Day after the operation I went back to practice. I have had that done three times. They are starting to grow in again, so maybe this time I will try the DIY.

Well I took the left one out. The toe started to swell and shine. I just soaked it in warm water for a bit then used nail clippers. I belive I got it out, will let it chill for a few days and see if it still hurts to the touch.
