Black bullhead*, Ameiurus melas
Yellow bullhead*, Ameiurus natalis
Brown bullhead*, Ameiurus nebulosus
Channel catfish*, Ictalurus punctatus
Tadpole madtom*, Noturus gyrinus
Flathead catfish*, Pylodictis olivaris

Are all native from what I can tell to the Northwest, specificaly Washington State. Channel and Flathead are larger species that I assume would be fine.

Oh! Thanks so much, BOTR. Maybe I'll giveflat heads another look...

I am liking the olive color.

But they are live-only feeders...

I would throw 15 of everything in it and let them grow and breed and have your own private fishing lake. Also maybe add a glass window for a viewing port.

Yes Blues can take the cooler temps and would be a great Monster choice.....but I dont know if its legal to keep them in a system that has a stream.

If the pond is not really closed, then I would be concerned about stocking non-native fishes. Checking it out with the DNR Fisheries to see if what species that lived in the stream that is connecting to your pond. Sometimes little water won't stop larger fish escaping from the pond as I learned out while in the field. However Albino channel catfish and hybrid blue catfish should be excellent pond fish for you.

I like the idea of the channel cat. We have them here in Winnipeg - in the Red River and it freezes over completely every year. They can get pretty damn big. They'd also eat anything i'm sure.
