Then stock the pond with sticklebacks and LMB.Nothing, I am at a headwater. My pond fills when it rains, streams from the hills.
The bog down from me has sticklebacks and has been stocked with LMB.
How can an MFK'er let 30,000 gallons sit empty?!
Hold your horses, not all fish is native to that specific creek and headwater. Stick with the LOCAL fish that can be found in the specific creek and headwater. Not introducing a new species to that specific creek. You can get in trouble for introduce a species to a new water body. We have problems with illegal stockings by the people. Smallmouth bass & muskellunge got accidently stocked in a lake near me and the locals are very unhappy about it. Nor the locals by a trout lake near me that have walleyes/bass that were stocked illegally by a person, and the non-native walleye/bass wiped out the trout population. You said the headwater was STOCKED with LMBs, then what's stopping you from putting in natives to your AREA? Obviously those bass were put in there by people which means they aren't naturally native even though they are to you AREA. See what I'm getting at? I would focus on native cats mainly but here's what I would do
yellow bullheads
brown bullheads
channel cats
albino channel cats
flathead cats
LMBs
SMBs
bluegills
pumpkinseeds
emerald shiners
common shiners
walleye
yellow perch
NO CARP, they ARE NOT NATIVE.
It's either that one or stocking the dam natives. How can an MFK'er let 30,000 gallons sit empty?!
