I have a friend going to a piranha friendly state in about a week and have a tank ready for some red bellies but its not fully established yet. I have about 20 guppies and neons in there helping out along with a couple big scoops of gravel from a well established tank as well as some drift wood / big rocks.

Do you guys think that it would be ready for fish in about 10 days?

If not I'm not sure when I could get down there... and I don't really want to wait.:(

Also should I remove my filter media from the old tank and stick it in the new tanks filter? would that speed things up?

It would definately help things along to transplant some filter media from your old tank, assuming the tank is still up and running. How long have you had the new tank setup? Also, what do your params look like right now?

well just like cant said, it well speed up the cycle process, and the fish you already have there will help as well too.
what size of P's are you getting?
