injured arowana

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Clean water is most beneficial treatment. I would recommend doing enough daily water changes to keep the nitrates well below 10ppm. As for salt or melfix either or both would be fine. Dose the melafix for 75g on a daily basis after water changes. With salt you'll need to add one teaspoon per 5 gallons on the first dose then just add salt after daily water changes for the volume of the water changed. Best to get a heater and boost that temp up to 85-86*

Your tank is becoming an issue for your arowana, I hope you have already sealed and secured the top with weight so the aro does get out again. You arowana is in need of an upgrade now. No way a silver aro that is one years old should be kept in a 75g tank.

Dang it beat up badly good thing u found it in time, I agree with everyone here, what is ur current water temp in hawaii? I know its tropical and u might get away without heater but that slimcoat with aloe by api a mmber suggested in this thread does work and will help put the synthetic coating ur fish badly need, good luck!!

Thanks guys. He actually got out from the gap between the canopy and the HOB. It's really only about a 2" x16" gap that's partially blocked by the filter. Didn't think there was any way he could fit through there by now. I cut up some eggcrate to block off the area.

Yeah silvers are jumpy! Had two commit suicide on me...now i have a jardini! The jardini not as jumpy but not taking that chance so any possible hole is covered.

ADD salt and melifix. Good luck..
