Injured fin or permanent birth defect?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If it bothers you that much, sell him and get a "perfect" one. To me, it's not that bad and there is nothing wrong with a little individuality ;)

i would say it's permanent deformity, the left pectoral fin of my ornate was bitten and seriously harmed by my puffer when he is 4'', and now he's already 12'', but the left pectoral still looks a little different from the right one...:irked::irked:

It's just a slight defect. I wouldn't worry about it. Give him a chance.:)

Looks like a slight imperfection, but it still looks nice. Nothing to worry about.

IMO it will be permanent, but does not appear debilitating or affecting it's health. Aside from aesthetic of a cupped fin, should be no problem.

I understand where you are coming from though....I have a one eyed delhezi, with poor patterning. "Saved" him from a LFS who put him in with puffers (= no fins :irked:)

After a year of careful nursing he turned out be be one of my favorites, because he's unique ;)

My rescue fish has the same issue only worse. His fin is almost straight back against is body. And the fins dont spread at all. He also didnt have any of the sensors on his head left either... but he's still goin strong at 9in
