Inline heater and controller

I'm ready to get the heater out of my tank. I was thinking of ordering a 300W Hydor ETH and a Finnex heater controller. Does anyone have any positive or negative experiences with either of these?

Had the heaters on fluval 405s and six moths later the impeller housing wouldn't stay closed.That was the weak link on those filters so its hard to say if they played a role but its suspicious that they both failed within a week or two. I replaced the filters with a fx5 and since it has 1" hoses I quite using the heaters so I don't know about longevity bt I was happy with them for the 6 months I used them. Lots of members oove the ranco controllers.

I have a Hydor ETH 300w on my Eheim 2028. I love it and would recommend it if you have large fish that will knock on your glass heater.

I have 3 Hydor ETH heaters currently and have only good things to say about them. I have never used a heater controller before.
