Don't forget the extremely limited range of fish we can get too. Been looking for something out of the ordinary for my 120G but not having much luck.

yea it is crap but thats what you get when you live in a country with almost no animal exchange, are you in Vic if so look in Melbourne for Coburg Aquarium or upmarket Aquarium they have an alright stock but don't both looking for anything rare bc last time i was in Melbourne they didn't have anything rare.

I am in melbourne, don't mind Coburg aquarium for the basics but some of the staff are dodgy. There's a good shop in Grovedale near geelong that has interesting stuff and pretty cheap too so will go there when I'm ready to stock.
I'd like to bring some of the American and UK members over here and show them what we have to put up with, bet they wouldn't be complaining about things once they got home.

Yea I agree they dont realise how lucky they are in the price/variaty of animals. But at least we dont get school shootings.

Neither do many parts of Europe, just a burgeoning rape culture, sex trafficking, rampant crime waves. And they are not allowed to resist as the rulers turn a blind eye on citizens concerns.

Not sure what that has to do with fish, but anyhow since you brought it up...

hahaha sorry. We just got like no fish imports and its like well at least we don't get any shootings. but to give you an example it's rare to see a dovii, an eel or an arowana. and for the most part we dont have gar or bichirs

I can see why. I live in South Florida USA, we are awash in invasives

We don't have that issue here luckily but it would be nice if responsible people could get their hands on a larger variety of fish. Unfortunately I know if we could some fool would release something and ruin it for everyone. I am suprised we don't have a bigger problem with invasive species in the warmer States hough. It's the start of winter here in Melbourne and freezing, I doubt if any tropical fish have been dumped in a river here that they'd be enjoying themselves at the moment.
