That would be awesome to create a breed of dwarf flowerhorns who don't look ugly and deformed like the sb fish.
This fish was created from 2 sb and sb is what I was breeding for so I obviously don't think sb are ugly. Just another trait to breed for. I and many others think they are cute and I've never personally seen the sb deformity cause any health problems. I don't even see my sb as deformed and most of them are perfectly round shaped.
I can't remember why I got into them but I really enjoy them. Maybe because it's hilarious seeing a bunch of really fat and round juvie grow outs zoom around assaulting each other. I like that my sb fish can destroy full size flowerhorn haha. I prefer any fish with the wet pet personality. Can't stand African or marine tanks where the fish are just being fish.
I am def still interested in her. I have a micro SRD bred by Yod Zaxyl who happens to be a bonsai and his genetics carry the fader gene pretty heavily. I think they'd make the perfect pair genetically. I also have some male BP x Syn. from Izzy_Here that could make interesting outcrosses.
Redd have you had any luck breeding your male from Izzy_Here? I have two of them, one is spectacular, wanting to try him with a female Texas.
I have not even tried yet...still growing them out. Hoping that it all works out in the end. I have a few that are really nice and did not fade...a few others i am just holding as dithers at this point, they never really turned the corner looks wise for me. The best looking color wise is shortbodied with a parrot mouth which makes me feel like he may be a dud in the breeding department but I'll keep hope alive until proven otherwise lol
