Going by that, i can get two of them... better put in my order in now... maybe they'll even do fine in my F/W tank with my puffer :screwy:

the get seven feet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how on earth???? it wouldn't even be able to fit (with out breaking anything or cutting it up) in a 100 gallon tank!!!!!

For the record, there is a MAJOR translation issue when dealing with "Zebra" sharks. The price and size say it is what we call "Indonesian Bamboo" - which is what a lot of Pacific collectors call "Zebra". What we call "Zebra", they call "Leopard". And they don't deal with what we know as leopards (the cold water species off the West Coast).

So when as collector says he has a zebra shark, they aren't what we think of. Which is why the wrong latin and pic get put on the ad. It does come down to sellers knowing what they have. And this is a great example of why many places shouldn't be selling sharks.

If you look at the info listed for the guitarfish (what they call shovel nose shark), they screwed up and cut/pasted BULL SHARK info into the bottom. If you click both links to the brown banded bamboo, they list 2 different sizes and descriptions, but it's the same animal. Yet again, another clue as what to avoid.

Well - Zebra Shark (Stegostoma varium) definitely suggest it the indo-pacific species which reachs 8 ft long or more. But the size they list and price they list suggest the Indonesian Or Hasselt's Bambo Shark.

Also it should be noted that they also have Brown-banded Bamboo (Chiloscyllium punctatum) list twice as the Black banded Cat Shark, and the Bamboo Cat Shark. Point is this site often misnames the species it lists.

The picture they're using is of Stegostoma fasciatum, which grows to over 8 feet. Even if it is the Chilloscyllium 'zebra' 100 gallons isn't nearly enough for that species either.
