yeah, letting a fish slowlly get bulliied to death is so wrong, people like that shouldnt have fish. im putting
zpetrichko on my MFK list of people i will not have any contact with (i actually have a list)
 
There is literally nothing i can do at this point in time. if i could move the fish until it grew bigger to defend itself i would, however the only other tank i have is a 20 at my school. i will be moving in monday and will move the fish if it doesn't improve or perish by then, however if i moved it to a bucket or along those lines i'd still be flamed for not giving it proper filtration, there is no way to win this conversation. Please close i apologize for starting the thread.
 
You can try putting it in a bucket & add in an air stone until you are able to move it..
Filtration wise, I think it will survive a day or two without filter which is better than getting nibbled to death..
 
With a daily 50% water change and an airstone, a bucket placed in a warm part of the house would be a GREAT alternative for a couple of days.

I would add some amquel or polyaqua as well to help heal up the existing damage.
 
It is not funny to watch fish kill eachother. And Your fish aren't licking their lips.. they haven't the proper physiology to do so... and being Cichilds.. it's simply Territory.. not food.. unless you're improperly feeding them. Which you would know if you did abit of research on the species you have in your tank. There is a big difference between feeding live foods, and delighting in another creatures suffering.

Something as simple as breaking up the territories and re-arrangeing the tank, adding more hideing spots in the process, blurring territory lines with fake plants ect can all go a long way to letting your fish live peacefully.

and yes it is "just a fish" but you took responsability for a life when you bought the fish. show abit of respect for that life by at least trying to help it, instead of sitting back and thinking it funny you put them into a death box unintentionally.
 
You can put it in a big bucket with an airstone for it to recover, if the area you live in is warm it should be ok.

if you would have made a thread on how you could save your fire mouth from being bullied and killed by the other fire mouth you would have got loads of advices on how you could do it buddy..we all know fishes die in the hobby but that happens by accident or bad luck..no one sees their fish being bullied to death..
 
why be so mean to that poor firemouth, i would put it in a bucket and put the bucket in the tank, then i will let nature take its course :/

true. i dont like to see my fish being picked to death. its either i trade in the fish that is being picked on or the one who is picking on the fish. and when you say let nature do its thing. a fish tank really isnt nature for them in a way because in their natural place they live they can swim as far away as they can to avoid being picked on or even eaten. instead you poor little fish is stuck in the corner where he has no chance of surviving. but good luck hope you make the right decission to just trade him in to any pet stores around you or just give it to someone.
 
Put it in a bucket. Be responsible. When I saw aggression in my fish for the first time, I put the victims in a bucket and ran out and got another tank right away.
