Point to consider:
Stick to the habit of hand-tightening. Tighten bulkheads as tight as you can with your hands only. I know how tempting it is to use some sort of aid (wrench etc) but if you can seat the gasket hand tight you have almost no chance of herniating the gasket or breaking the threaded ring.
